Dosage

  • 1 – 2 x daily (1 ml = 20 drops)
  • Dog 10 – 15 drops
  • Cat 3 – 5 drops
Shake well before use If it is difficult in practice to administer this product several times a day, once a day or once every 2 days is sufficient. Then give the maximum dose of one day. Even then this product can be used effectively, but reaction may take a little longer. In case of improvement, a maintenance dose can be switched. This is usually half the dosage indicated on the package. When dosing this product, look carefully at the reaction of the animal. In the beginning a higher dose may be required, this product can be safely given in a double dose. When improving, gradually reduce the dose to the lowest possible dose. With a number of products, a short-term aggravation may occur at the start of treatment. This means that the animal reacts to the product. In the event of a serious increase, halve the dose or stop it temporarily and then slowly build up again.

Administration

Give this product with a plastic syringe directly into the mouth, possibly diluted with a little water. Preferably not at the same time as a meal because the product works better when it is absorbed by the clean oral mucosa. If an animal does not like the product, the drops can be given on a small piece of treat. If the cat does not accept the drops, put the drops on a warm spoon and let the alcohol evaporate from the product. Then give it diluted with some water or milk with a syringe directly into the mouth. The drops can also be applied to the top of the paw, but check whether the cat licks the drops off the paw.

Duration of treatment

Always provide good quality food. An affected area of the skin in the form of a hotspot usually develops in the spring or autumn. A six-monthly drainage cleaning course with PUUR Detoxi/Drainage or with Phytonics Detox can help reduce the severe skin reaction. Some long-haired breeds, especially those with a dense, brooding undercoat, are more prone to developing hot spots, which often appear after swimming. Maintaining optimal coat condition helps prevent hot spots.

In an acute situation, the duration of the treatment is relatively short. This can vary from a few days to 3 weeks. If there is an improvement, continue with the administration of this product for a few days. In case of prolonged discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. In case of improvement, a maintenance dose can be switched. This is usually half the dosage indicated on the package. When dosing this product, look carefully at the reaction of the animal. This product can be given permanently. It is advisable to insert a stop week after every 6 to 8 weeks. In this way, the ‘stimulus’ can be offered again after the stop week. Resume treatment immediately if there is reason to do so.

Interaction and contraindication

During pregnancy and lactation always apply in consultation with the attending veterinarian. To date, side effects of this product have not been known or reported.
