Skin issues in horses are not only caused by allergies. By measuring the animal completely, other factors that are important can also come to light.
Problems in the hormone system often lead to skin complaints. Of course, a primary infection of the skin, such as a fungal infection, a bacterial infection of the skin or a parasitic infection, may also have occurred directly on the skin or internal parasites.
Further regular testing, such as scrapings or blood tests, may be required to rule out or confirm the above causes before we can develop a comprehensive treatment protocol.
