Team Den Hoek – Joyce Lammertink

In this new section, each month we ask one of our team members a series of questions so that you can get to know us a little better. After Eric it is now the turn of our always cheerful assistant Joyce !

– How long have you been working for Den Hoek and how did you end up here?
“I have been working at Den Hoek since June 2017, so it has been almost 5 years now. During the last period of my Animal Management training I did an internship at Den Hoek and then I was allowed to stay immediately due to maternity leave from Marlies and I didn’t leave after that. Really fantastic isn’t it?!”

– What do you like most about your job?
“What I enjoy most is customer contact and being able to do something for people and/or their animals. I also like working with my colleagues, because I like to have a good time!”

– What is the most important thing you have learned during your work at Den Hoek?
“The most important thing I have learned is how to deal with customers and to offer a suitable service in different situations.”

– What is the nicest or most special thing you have experienced during your work?
“What I find special is that sometimes the owner and animal come for a consultation. Both will then receive their own treatment from another doctor or therapist. When checking out, it appears regularly that both the owner and the animal have been prescribed the same medication. So you see that animal and owner can mirror each other in their complaints.”

– What do you like least about your job?
“Actually, there isn’t anything not to like! The only thing I can think of is if you have to deal with unfriendly/negative or grumpy people. You don’t get any energy from that.”

– How would you describe the Den Hoek team?
“A pleasant group of different people with their different characters and each with its own strong qualities. As a result, we can work together to offer every patient the appropriate care and service.”

– Do you have pets yourself?
“Hell yes! 1 dog named Nikey as you see in the picture and 2 dwarf rabbits Lilo and Luna.”

– Coffee or tea break?
“Coffeeeeee of course!! I sometimes don’t allow myself the time to grab a drink when you’re busy at the counter. If a colleague comes to make coffee in between, then that is one of the lucky moments of the day! Often after 2 or 3 cups of coffee in the morning, we switch to a thermos full of tea that we drink throughout the day.”

– What can we wake you up for?
“A pizza baked in a brick oven by a real Italian.”

– What do you like to do in your spare time?
“I like fitness, boxing, this is really an outlet. I also like to walk with my dog in nature.”
